Mental Health First Aid Training
This Mental Health First Aid training is proudly delivered by Mood Mental Health Training and led by Brendan Roy, an experienced Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) Instructor with over 20 years in education. Brendan has held senior leadership roles and has supported mental health initiatives in secondary schools and across multi-academy trusts.
As an MHFAider®, you will be equipped to:
Recognise individuals experiencing poor mental health and provide first-level support and early intervention.
Encourage individuals to identify and access professional help and other support services.
Practice active listening and empathy.
Engage in conversations with improved mental health literacy, including understanding language and stigma.
Gain in-depth knowledge of the MHFAider® role, including boundaries and confidentiality.
Practice self-care techniques.
Learn how to use the MHFAider Support App®.
Access a dedicated text service provided by Shout and ongoing learning opportunities with MHFA England.
This course is perfect for businesses looking to train their staff as MHFAiders®, enabling them to recognise signs of poor mental health, confidently initiate conversations, and direct individuals to the right support.
Upon completion, participants will join the largest community of Mental Health First Aiders in England, the Association of Mental Health First Aiders, gaining access to invaluable resources, continuous learning, and 24/7 digital support. This equips you with the tools and knowledge to perform the MHFA role effectively in the workplace, as a volunteer, or within the community.
